Why take the adventure

Three reasons you'll love it.

01

Breathtakingly simple

No remortgaging the house. No climbing Everest. Just an hour, a drink, a conversation. Ridiculously fun, mischievously effective.

02

Authentic human connection

Develop the one life skill almost no one teaches: forming real relationships that create real impact. The foundation of every good life.

03

More than you thought possible

Year-to-year effectiveness beats day-to-day effort. Speak your hopes out loud over fifty Coffees and you'll arrive somewhere you couldn't have planned.

How it works

It's not really about the Coffee.

Spend an hour informally, in any location, with any drink, with one person at a time. Repeat fifty times. Real cafe, kitchen table, Zoom call. The form doesn't matter. The conversations do.

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

Portrait of Marc Winn holding a coffee cup

Marc Winn is a British entrepreneur, mentor and breakthrough innovation specialist based in Guernsey. In 2014 he created the now widely-shared Ikigai Venn diagram, a simple visual tool for finding personal purpose.

He helps people, organisations and communities find their purpose through three pillars: Ikigai philosophy, meaningful Coffee conversations, and breakthrough innovation for island communities. The 50 Coffee Adventure distils that practice into a playbook anyone can pick up.

What exactly is The 50 Coffee Adventure?

It's a simple personal challenge: invite fifty people for a coffee, one conversation at a time. The book is your playbook, prompting you who to call, what to ask, and how to let the adventure unfold.

Do I have to drink coffee?

Not at all. Coffee is shorthand for an hour of undivided attention. Tea, a walk, a video call, a pint after work, anything that creates space for a real conversation counts.

How long does the adventure take?

Most people stretch their fifty coffees across three to six months. There is no deadline. The point is the quality of each conversation, not the speed of the streak.

Who should I invite?

Old friends, people you admire from afar, someone you keep meaning to thank, a stranger whose work intrigues you. The book includes prompts to help you build your list when you get stuck.

Is there a community I can join?

Yes. There is an active Facebook group where readers share their adventures, swap prompts, and cheer each other on.
